Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Competency Practice Exam

Continuous measurement procedures are designed to capture every instance of behavior throughout a specific observation period. This includes consistently monitoring and recording behavior as it occurs, which is emphasized in the first three characteristics mentioned.

The option stating that continuous measurement "gives an overall sample during observations" is not aligned with the fundamental aspect of continuous measurement. Continuous measurement aims to document every occurrence of a behavior instead of just providing a sample. Sampling implies that not all instances are being recorded, which is contrary to the purpose of continuous measurement. It ensures a detailed and thorough collection of data rather than a generalized overview.

Therefore, recognizing that continuous measurement captures behavior comprehensively rather than through sampling clarifies why this is the correct choice.
